‘THE ROCK’ OPENS IN MESA

Today in Mesa, AZ, the Grand Opening of Alice Cooper’s latest Solid Rock Teen Centers will take place @ 5:30pm. Alice will perform with the Solid Rock Band; many other teens will also be performing as well. Food trucks and a ribbon-cutting ceremony will also be part of the fun.

What a tremendous feat for Alice & Sheryl Cooper, along with the hardworking staff and teens at the Solid Rock Teen Center, to continue pressing forward and providing opportunities for so many teenagers in Arizona communities. Even with the current COVID-19 scenario, the vision for The Rock continues to endure and prosper.

What if there wasn’t Art?…Music?…Literature?…Dance? What would we be? We would be Machines. Dumb animals. What if we couldn’t express ourselves? Would we go insane? I think we would…God gave us creativity and a chance to express ourselves” – Alice Cooper

Stop and think about those remarks. We often believe there are multiple outlets for expression, opinion, and commentary in today’s society. But are they healthy forms of communication? Are we learning how to properly deal with our emotions, our spirituality, or with one another?

Teaching, mentoring, and sharing experiences are paramount aspects of life. They are part of the human condition – part of God’s Creation. So it’s inspiring and fascinating to see a group of people willing to help young folks “find themselves and then (help them)  nurture what they find.”

God’s Word offers us expressions from many different authors, all writing about their experiences – authors passing along their encounters with God through literature, poems, and songs. The most familiar ones are found in the books of Psalms, Proverbs, and Songs of Solomon.

Scripture also goes on to describe dancing and music as well. For example, Miriam, Moses’s sister, led the women of Israel in dance before the Lord (Exodus 15:20), and David danced and sang before the Lord on many occasions (Psalm 150:3-5, 1 Chronicles 16:4-7, Samuel 6:1-23). These are only a few examples; many more celebrations included music and dance.

The ability to express and create comes from creation. Our Father created us in His likeness and image (Genesis 1:27), and He is the Grand Artist of all things – sculpting and molding us out of miry clay in His timing (Jeremiah 18:3, Ecclesiastes 3:11).

In conclusion, creation, beauty, and Art are common denominators. They connect us. We must continue teaching, nurturing, and mentoring each other and future generations to be what He has created us to be – vessels of His Love. What better way to show the world His Love than through the expressions of Art?

If able, meet up with the folks in Mesa tonight for the GRAND OPENING of something special. You can text the word “MESA” to 480.351.1765 for more info about the event.

If you want to get involved, think about giving back to Alice and his mission (check out the info below to learn more), not to mention the next generation of Rockers, Dancers, Dreamers, and Thinkers. The blessings we receive by giving back are often more incredible than those we receive from others (Acts 20:35).

That’s it for this week. Be well and catch you next Friday!

Until then, keep Walkin’ in Faith and Rockin’ with Alice!

Programs will focus around a multi-use concert hall, coffee house (kitchen/snack bar for concert & other events), indoor basketball/floor hockey court, rock climbing walls, sound room and recording studio, computer/reading/study rooms, game room.

Their goal is to make an everlasting difference in the lives of the teenagers and children they are dedicated to helping.

Have you accepted Christ as your Savior?

If you would like to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, please pray the following prayer:

"God, I believe in you and your son Jesus Christ.  I believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave to save me. Today, I invite Jesus into my heart to stay.  I make you Lord over my life. Make me new. Wash me, Lord, and cleanse me. In Jesus Name, Amen"

If you have just prayed that prayer, we want to celebrate your new victory with you.  Please contact us at prayers@oceanfloorministries.com so we can welcome you into the kingdom.  We don't want you to have to walk alone and we have some resources we would like the opportunity to share with you.

NOTE: We’d also like to share the following resources used by “Fridays With Alice.” Without these books and sites, this would be a much more complicated endeavor. So be sure to check them out if interested.
